However, as he was returning home to his family after opening the area of Chile to the gospel, Brigham Young called him to serve a mission in the Eastern States. Pratt served a mission for more than 25 YEARS. Callister when I came across a quote from the biography of Parley P. I was reading the talk, “Become a Consecrated Missionary” by Tad R. It definitely hasn´t sunk in yet and I don´t think it will until about two weeks after I get home. I can´t come to believe that I am writing what may very well be the last email of my mission (next week I won´t have a P-day. Marissa is getting married!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh Crazy!!! Weird.I´m kind of without words. Life is good out here in Bolivia! Sun burn is gone (slept with ice in my pillow haha), work is going well and we are continually moving forward and progressing! Ya'll can send them to Mom, then her to me. I would like to recieve one missionary experience every week. Between Mom, Dad, Grandma and Grandpa, Nate, Tyler, Beau, Uncles, and friends. He is very animated about missionary work. ![]() I think we are going to find a lot more success working with him. You can just see how the Lord has blessed him for the good things that he has done. He shared several mission stories with us and his testimony. I guess the old missionaries never really worked with him, which is really sad, because this guy is incredible. This week we had a meeting with our Branch Mission Leader Juan Carlos Cordial. I look forward to the next lesson with him this week. We shared a lesson with him and he recieved everything really, really well. I really think this kid has been prepared to recieve the Gospel. Probably the most spiritual kid I've ever met in my life. That means in one year they will be able to be sealed as a family. I also recieved news that Rene´s father (from my old area) is going to be baptised! That is incredible. His wife really wants to go to the Temple. Benigno came to church yesterday! Progress. ![]() You can already see the change taking place. But we have been teaching the family and we set some goals with them that they could start reading the Book of Mormon as a family every night. The mother is named Fransisca, and the father is Benigno. So we have been working with a less active family. We had a family home evening with them and some members, and they brought friends with them! Helping them is going to open a lot more doors. We have started to reteach them the lessons and we are also going to teach the family that they live with. But these girls are the most upbeat people I have ever met! They went through some pretty rough times, but now want to return to church! Truly incredible kids. Their mother passed away though and the father is no where to be found. They were baptised 4 or 5 years ago with their mother. We also found two girls Diana and Alejandra 17 and 14. We have been doing a lot of searching and finding, and have had some success! We have found a couple families that used to be taught by the missionaries, So we are opening those opportunities up. Me and my comp opened up the area book and started looking into all of the old investigators. We also had the opportunity to watch Meet the Mormons at the Zone Conference! It was awesome. Difficult, but possible with the help of our Heavenly Father. Something we are all trying to accomplish in this life. 100% is certainly not easy, but is possible, with a lot of prayer and commitment. In order to be able to complete what I came out here to do, I truly have to give my everything. How we have to give up every ounce of disobedience, any pride that we may have, all negativity or sarcasm, all fear, how we can't have one foot at home and the other in the mission. How we need to give our absolute everything, mind, might and strength. The talk outlines how we as missionaries need to put EVERYTHING on the sacrificial alter so that we can do our work. Incredible talk, great perspective, and a total change in the way of thinking. The theme of the conference was "Becoming a Consecrated Missionary" based on the talk by Tad R. Last Thursday we had an incredible Zone Conference.
